Walking is king.
I don’t consider walking an exercise. I see walking as an essential activity to living. Although my number one overall recommendation, walking is not my number one exercise recommendation.
One activity that some people find increasingly difficult over the years is getting on and off the ground. Being able get to the ground and back up again requires strength, flexibility, and balance. Loss of any one of these will result in the inability to get down to the ground and back up again.
However, this activity, called floor recovery, can be restored with proper work and progression. For those that can still do it, even once, I recommend practicing it twice per day, every day. Work up to being able to get down to the floor and back to standing 10-12 times in a row, and you will find that your total body strength, flexibility, and balance all improve tremendously.
